Cookies are small files a website can place in your browser to remember things between visits or across pages. They can be benign (remembering your dark-mode preference), useful (keeping you logged in), or invasive (tracking you across the web for advertising).

What this site uses

Essential / technical only

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for security purposes (for example, identifying genuine human visitors versus automated abuse). These are not used for tracking and have no effect on your privacy in any meaningful sense. Under UK PECR, these do not require consent.

Embedded images

The Agora's publication mark on this site is loaded from Substack's CDN. This is a one-way image fetch and does not enable any cookie or tracking from Substack to The Essential Expert.

If we add analytics in future

We are likely to add Plausible Analytics or Cloudflare Web Analytics at some point. Both are privacy-respecting and do not require a cookie banner under UK PECR. If we ever add anything that does require consent (we have no current plan to), we will update this notice and add a clear consent mechanism before doing so.
